The Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville (HBAGK) Home Show 2017 at the Knoxville Convention last weekend drew more than double the attendees from the 2016 show.
The HBAGK Home Show, sponsored by ORNL Federal Credit Union, took place in downtown Knoxville on Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 17-19 and featured home builders and members of HBAGK from all parts of East Tennessee. This was the 66th HBAGK Home Show.
“This year’s turnout was fantastic,” said Dan Mitchell, president of HBAGK. “It’s a good indication of what’s going on in our market right now. Virtually everyone who attended our show – more than 90 percent of the attendees – were actively in the process of building or remodeling a home. That’s what makes the HBAGK Home Show so unique.”
This year, HBAGK teamed with Rick Laney Marketing, LLC to market, promote and advertise the Home Show. Mitchell said the new, more aggressive approach to marketing the show contributed greatly to this year’s surprising turnout.
“The marketing, advertising and public relations program was amazing the year,” Mitchell said. “We had such a presence on television, radio, in newspapers and online. For the past month, everywhere you turned you saw the 2017 HBAGK Home Show – and our attendance was testimony to the great campaign Rick Laney Marketing put together for us.”
According to Mitchell, the 2017 HBAGK Home Show also received far more attention from the local media than previous years with Rick Laney Marketing managing media relations before and during the show. The HBAGK 2017 Home Show was featured on local television, radio and newspapers more than a dozen times leading up to and during the event (see some of the television coverage here).
With more than 120 exhibitors, the HBAGK Home Show is the region’s longest-running home show and a favorite for people wishing to have one-on-one contact with the area’s premier builders, designers, flooring companies, kitchen and bath remodelers, home security system providers, landscaping companies and more.
“The Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville represents the most professional, experienced and trustworthy builders, subcontractors and suppliers in East Tennessee,” Mitchell said.
“People looking to build a new home or remodel an existing home seek out our members every day because it’s the smartest thing to do – and the HBAGK Home Show gives people the opportunity to meet with those members face-to-face at the show.”
The Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville represents the absolute best of the home building, development and remodeling industry in Knox, Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Fentress, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier and Union counties.
Dates for the 2018 HBAGK Home Show at the Knoxville Convention Center will be announced soon. For more information about HBAGK and the HBAGK Home Show 2018, visit www.HBAKnoxville.com.
