New Chesapeake’s now open in Gatlinburg

The new Chesapeake’s restaurant in Gatlinburg is now open. The seafood restaurant serves dishes including live Maine lobster, fresh oysters and fresh Maryland crab cakes. 

The new location, located at 437 Parkway, will employ 80 to 100 people. Chesapeake’s currently has locations in downtown Knoxville and West Knoxville.

Chesapeake’s is part of the Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants, which was founded in 1975 and includes Calhoun’s, Copper Cellar, Chesapeake’s, Cherokee Grill, Corner 16, Smoky Mountain Brewery and Cappuccino’s, in addition to banquet and catering facilities. The new Gatlinburg Chesapeake’s is the group’s 20th location.

Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants employs almost 2,000 people across its Knoxville, Maryville, Oak Ridge, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Lenoir City locations. The company also has locations inside Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena.

“We are excited to expand our brand in Gatlinburg,“ Copper Cellar founder Mike Chase said. “Sevier County residents have made our other restaurants in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge very successful – and we know that many tourists who come to the Smoky Mountains look forward to a great meal at Calhoun’s. Now they can add Chesapeake’s to their vacation plans.”

For nearly a half-century the Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants have been known as “The Taste of Tennessee.” The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce awarded the Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants its prestigious Pinnacle Award for the positive impact the company has on East Tennessee through programs like its free Veterans Day meals and Making Strides For More Birthdays. Calhoun’s ribs were named “Best Ribs in America” in 1984 at the National Rib Cook-Off. 

The new Chesapeake’s in Gatlinburg is open for lunch and dinner every day.
