RDI technologies announced today that its ground-breaking new product, Iris M powered by Motion Amplification, was recognized by the judges of the annual Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of esteemed experts from system integrator and end-user companies.

RDI Technologies was honored with a Silver Award in this year’s judging. The Iris M powered by Motion Amplification is a revolutionary video-processing product and software package that measures subtle motion and amplifies that motion to a level visible with the naked eye. Every pixel becomes a sensor creating millions of data points in an instant.

Users point the Iris M camera at an asset to take video data and then push a button to amplify the true motion of the entire field of view. They then simply draw a box anywhere in the image to measure the displacement with a time waveform and frequency spectrum. Users then see the big picture without adding costly sensors or spending days modeling the asset.

  • Quick and effective alternative to traditional ODS
  • Great troubleshooting tool
  • Returns a Time Waveform and Frequency Spectrum anywhere in the image.
  • Effective communication tool between technical and non-technical resources
  • Software is easy to use and provides instant results
  • Completely non-contact solution
  • Acquire data during normal operations
  • Possible uses are endless

Jeff Hay, founder of RDI Technologies, said, “It’s such an honor for our team at RDI Technologies to be recognized with the Innovators Award. Collectively, we have decades of experience in this field – and we’ve known all along that the Iris M powered by Motion Amplification was revolutionary, but it’s always rewarding to have the most respected experts in the industry see the same thing in your product.”

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Vision Systems Design said “This prestigious program allows Vision Systems Design to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry. Our 2017 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry.”

The Innovators Awards are judged based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Innovation
  • Impact on Designers, Systems Integrators, End Users
  • Fulfilling a need in the market that hasn’t been addressed
  • Leveraging a novel technology

The 2017 Visions Systems Design Innovators Awards Honorees are featured in the June Issue of Vision Systems Design magazine as well as on the company’s website.

About RDI Technologies – RDI Technologies is a Knoxville, Tenn.-based company that developed new patented technology enabling non-contact optical monitoring for a variety of applications. RDI Technologies (RDI, LLC) utilizes the millions of pixels in today’s digital cameras to monitor anything – structures, bridges, plant machinery and even human respiration – without the use of contact sensors or other direct connections to the assets or subjects being monitored. For the first time ever, accurate data collection can now be obtained by simply pointing a camera in the direction of the subject.

About Vision Systems Design – Published since 1996, Vision Systems Design is a global resource for engineers, engineering managers and systems integrators that provides comprehensive global coverage of vision systems technologies, applications, and markets.
