Alan VanWhy, Jr. was named the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) “2020 BEAM Award” winner at the International Builders Show this week in Las Vegas. VanWhy is president and founder of Noble Knights Construction Services and president of Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville (HBAGK).
The NAHB BEAM (Builders Engaging Associate Members) Award is bestowed on one builder or one local entity that best exemplifies the NAHB motto, “It’s good business to do business with a member.”
The NAHB BEAM Award serves to encourage builder members to use the goods and services offered by member companies and to recognize the builder or local entity that exemplifies this vitally important teamwork.
“I have been an active member of the local, state and nation Home Builders Associations from the time I started my business,” VanWhy said. “Anyone who does business with my company – Noble Knights Construction Services – knows that I only buy from local companies that are members and I only use workers and service-providers that are members. It’s good for the industry and it’s good for my business because Home Builders Association members are the most professional, experienced and trustworthy people you will find.”
Each local Home Builders Association was invited to submit one nominee for each award directly to NAHB. States were also encouraged to submit one nominee for each award directly to NAHB. Each award was weighted to award an individual who has excelled at the local, state and national level, and nominations reflected that participation.
The award was presented at the Associates of Excellence Awards Program held annually at the International Builders’ Show.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville, where VanWhy is currently president, represents thousands of the most trusted, professional and experienced home builders, developers and remodelers in Knox, Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Fentress, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier and Union counties.
